Although historical fiction about the 1969 Woodstock Music Festival and making of the Oscar-winning documentary, the story has a deep connection to the author's life. The Yasgurs' backstory (not fiction) mirrors Reed's parents'. A teenager in 1969, she did not attend the festival but Woodstock made a lasting impression on her.
About the Author
Author, editor, librarian, entrepreneur, and college instructor Mindy Reed has been in publishing for over thirty years. She is the founder and editor-in-chief of the Authors’ Assistant, where she has been the “midwife” to writers birthing their books from concept to publication. Her own writing includes the short story collection, Women of a Certain Age: short stories of the twentieth century, and This is the Dawning: a Woodstock Love Story. She is the host of the KOOP 91.7 FM interview show “Writing on the Air.”
